Cholesterol

When the results showed that I have high cholesterol in my blood I could not believe it, because I am a light weight person.

This is when I started with this chol research process. There are two types, one is the good one and of course the other is the bad one. Too much of one type or not enough of the other, can put your health at risk for coronary Heart Disease, heart attack or stroke.Your liver and other cells in your body make about 75 percent of blood chol. The other 25 percent comes from the food you eat. If you have too much bad cholesterol in your blood, this can clog the arteries which can lead to heart attack and stroke.

Many people inherit genes from their mother, father or even grandparents that cause them to make too much bad chol. Everyone age 20 and older should have a fasting “lipoprotein profile” every five years. This test is done after a 9 to 12 hours of fast without food, liquids or pills. It gives information about total chol, (bad) chol LDL, (good) chol HDL and triglycerides . Talk with your doctor about your chol levels, ask him to give you a plan and be sure you understand all instructions. Follow your plan carefully, especially when it comes to medication, it won’t work if you don’t take it seriously and as directed by your doctor. Learn how to make diet and lifestyle changes easily.
