Different factors that causes skincancer.

The sun, the lack of skin care, the ozon layer that becomes thinner and thinner are some of the principal external factors that increase the chances for skincancer.

In the United States, Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer. More than 3.5 million cases in two million people are diagnosed annually.•One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime.

Skin cancer is also the easiest to cure, if diagnosed and treated early. When allowed to progress, however, skin cancer can result in disfigurement and even death.

There are different factors that can lead to skin cancer in which we can mention: people who has white skin, red hair, blond with light color eyes, people who burn easily in the sun, people who has lots of spots,freckles and birth marks. People who stayed too much in the sun when they were little and get tanned frequently.

Regarding the skin cancer, the World Health Organization had also warned that the solar beds can have high levels of ultraviolet radiation which are much more stronger than the sun in the afternoon in many countries.

The types of skin cancer can all have different appearances, some skin cancers can be small, brilliant, rough, flaky, firm and reddish etc.. However, it is also important to considder other signs like bleeding freckles, or freckles that grow fast or itches.

Self-Examination

Self-examination can alert you to changes in your skin and aid in the early detection of skincancer. It should be done often enough to become a habit, but not so often as to feel like a bother. For most people, once a month is ideal and it should take only 10 minutes.

Some signs of skin cancer are:

A skin growth that increases in size and appears pearly, translucent, tan, brown, black, or multicolored. A mole, birthmark, beauty mark, or any brown spot that: changes color increases in size or thickness changes in texture is irregular in outline is bigger than 6mm or 1/4”, the size of a pencil eraser appears after age 21

A spot or sore that continues to itch, hurt, crust, scab, erode, or bleed. An open sore that does not heal within three weeks.
