Before we start with the proper daily women skin care routine, you'll need to know your skin type. How you care for your skin is dependent on the type of skin you have: Oily skin, Normal skin, Combination skin, Dry skin or Sensitive skin.

First of all you need to find a good cleanser that your skin responds well to, and stick with it for your daily women skin care routine. Avoid bar soaps as they tend to dry out the skin. Soap should only ever touch your skin from the neck down.Choose a creamy cleanser if you have dry skin or a clear women skin care cleanser if you have oily skin.

Be careful not to cleanse too often. Washing at night should do you. If you have dry skin, consider cold cream. Simply apply cream, then wipe off, no water needed (if you have hard water it can be especially harsh on skin). Most women prefer the water method: Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Use a dime-sized bit of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water. You'll also want to take off your makeup with a proper makeup remover. Use eye makeup remover very gently, the skin around the eyes are very sensitive.

In the morning, a splash of lukewarm water is all you need (we find it's great for removing excess oils from your nightly moisturizing). Never wash your face with hot or cold water (both can cause broken capillaries). Also be careful about over-cleansing your skin. Although your women skin care type is basically constant throughout your life, some lifestyle choices and environmental factors can affect how your skin behaves.

The aging process can't be stopped or reversed, but good daily skin care can slow the process.

Wash the face daily with mild soaps containing moisturizers

Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun-light

Use sun blocks

Eat plenty of grain, fruits, and vegetables

Exercise daily, and do facial exercises to retain muscle tone

Do not smoke

Sleep. Get 7-8 hours a night. Benefit: Your skin renews itself by building new cells while you sleep.

Vitamin C.Eat vitamin C-rich foods and take a supplement for extra insurance. Benefit: Vitamin C is a potent free-radical scavenger that's known for its corrective and preventative benefits for sun- and environmentally-damaged skin.

Water. Drink 6-8 glasses of filtered water per day. Benefit: improved circulation and accelerated cell growth.

Exercise. Regularly. Benefit: moving around helps revive circulation and speeds blood flow to the surface of your skin. Added benefit: Exercise can help alleviate stress.

Stress. Relax your mind by exercising your body. Especially unclench your facial muscles. Benefit: Relieving stress can mean avoiding blemishes, hives, color loss and under-eye-circles. One more thing, your mother was right: Habitually tense facial expressions can create permanent lines.

The "no-no's."Avoid them. Your skin hates alcohol, tobacco and caffeine, and will show you by losing moisture or forming wrinkles that makes you look older sooner. Avoid the no-no's and get this benefit: You'll look younger longer. (Be aware that some medications can make skin more sensitive.)
